Stinson 108
Service Bulletins

by Larry Westin

The Stinson 108 Service Bulletin page was first created June 3, 2009, Last updated 06/07/09.

This page has the Stinson 108 Service Bulletins in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Each of these scans for Service Bulletins 228 to 259 are from the original Stinson Service Bulletins which were published by Stinson on a yellow back ground paper. They were written and published by the Stinson Service Department between March 19, 1946, the first Stinson 108 Service Bulletin number 228, to the last Stinson 108 Service Bulletin published June 4, 1948, number 259.

With the sale of Stinson to Piper, and then later Piper selling the type certificate for the Stinson 108 to Univair, additional Service Bulletins were written. Service Bulletins from 260 through 267 are courtesy of Univair, these are published on a white background paper. My thanks to Univair for permission to include scanned copies of these Service Bulletins. There is a link on the main Stinson 108 homepage to the Univair homepage.

Most of this information was written when the airplane was new. However several times recently I've received information about Stinson 108's which have been found in a barn or field, not flown for more than 50 years. There is a chance some of these Service Bulletins have not been incorporated in all Stinson 108's. I have prsonally seen where the fuel sepage AD has not been complied with even if the log books says all AD's complied with.

Four of the Service Bulletins directly relate to Airthworthiness Directives still current today. The Service Bulletins which apply to an Airthworthiness Directive are marked with red letters saying Airthworthiness Directive.

Service Bulletins prior to number 228 were for the Stinson Reliant, HW-75, model 105, model 10 and model 10A. Stinson also produced Service Letters, Service Parts and Accessories Letters (blue background paper), and Stinson Service Information Letters (pink background paper). None of this information is presented here, only Stinson Service Bulletins (yellow background paper) are available here.

Each Service Bulletin is it's own PDF file. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.

If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader click here Adobe Arcobat Reader to get the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. This is a big file, about 40 Meg in size, you really should have a high speed connection to download it.
